What we promise, and what we don't.

General, informational tax guidance for India, for FY 2025-26 (AY 2026-27). It works out figures, shows the working, and cites the section of the Income-Tax Act behind each one.

It is not professional tax, legal or financial advice, and using it does not make anyone here your accountant. Nobody at Whoot is acting as your Chartered Accountant, and no privilege attaches to anything you type.

Have a qualified Chartered Accountant confirm the numbers before you file or act on anything here. That goes double for the foreign-equity and Schedule FA tools, which are new and have not yet been reviewed by a CA.

Estimates can be incomplete or wrong. Your return is yours: you are responsible for what you file. To the extent the law permits, we disclaim liability for actions taken on the basis of the app.

What we will do is fix it. If a figure or a citation is wrong, we correct it and we tell you.

Use the service lawfully. Do not try to break it, scrape it, resell it, or use it to work out someone else’s tax without their say-so.

You are in charge of it. Delete documents from your library whenever you like, and download or permanently delete your entire account yourself in Settings. What we hold and who processes it is set out in the Privacy page.

Everything is free while Whoot is new. Paid plans are coming, and nothing you can use today will be taken away from you when they arrive.

We may update them. The date at the top is the honest one, and material changes will be called out rather than slipped in.
